In accordance with the theme of the 12^th CRISU-CUPT conference “Enhancing Disaster Resilience through Education: Opportunities and Challenges for Indonesian and Thai Universities”, the Organizing Committee takes an opportunity to organize a scientific seminar as part of the conference programme, which will be held on Thursday, October 12^th 2017. The scientific seminar is dedicated to provide a platform for Indonesian and Thai researchers, practitioners, and students, to have their share on disaster recovery in their respective countries, particularly but not limited to, the event of tsunami disaster in December 2004. We invite prospective oral presenters to submit their abstracts (and full paper upon selection) based on research findings, methodologies as well as experience and best practices that contribute to the enhancement of disaster resilience of the disaster-prone areas in their respective countries. The topics are associated with the following sub themes:

• Sub-theme 1. University role in building disaster knowledge capacity
• Sub-theme 2. ICT application in disaster risk reduction
• Sub-theme 3. City resilience against disaster
• Sub-theme 4. Local and indigenous disaster knowledge

A selection of good quality papers will be invited to be submitted to an international journal paper (to be announced later).
