Abstract


The study aimed to determine the water requirements of existing irrigation and determine the efficiency of primary and secondary networks in the irrigated area of ​​Cubo in Pidie Jaya District. The case study method was used in the research. The primary data was obtained by conducting field observations and direct interviews with farmers while secondary data was obtained from the Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) of Pidie Jaya Regency. The results showed that the highest amount of rainfall in Bandar Baru, Panteraja and Trienggadeng Sub-districts was in December at 490 mm/month and the lowest in February was 87 mm/month, the water discharge planning in the Cubo irrigation area was 1.76 m3/s, consisted of the water requirement in the field of 1.04 mm/day, and the water requirement for land preparation was 9.89 mm/day. The efficiency of the primary channel in the Cubo irrigation area is 59.41% and the efficiency of the secondary channel is 56.04%.
